The LHAFA has developed a proposal to construct a federally certified 600 meter, multi position rifle and pistol range, an archery range, trap and a trap and skeet shooting range for sporting clay shoots. We intend on offering Range Safety Officer (RSO) training to our members as well as safe hunting and shooting educational courses. Currently, we have received municipal approval for our Shooting Range site located between Gosling Lake and Wilbourne Bay Road just off North West River Road (Route 500). On 4 August 2011, we finalized our request for a long term lease through Government Services, Crown Lands Division. We are requesting a long-term lease for the range portion of the property and a permit to occupy for the safety template area. This will permit us to sign and survey the safety template ourselves and will not block asscess to the general ppublic when the range is not in use. It will also reduce our development costs significantly!

We have prepared a project proposal and have submitted an Environmental Assessment of the project to the Department of Environment and Conservation, Environmental Assessment section.
