The Labrador Hunting and Fishing Association acquired the boat launch area in 2011 from The Government of Newfoundland and Labrador on a 5 year lease. We are committed to enhancing and improving this area for our members and the public. To use this launch a membership is required, with an annual fee of $75. Boating activity has significantly increased and congestion due to parking is a problem. Therefore, we are asking all the vehicles to park in the large area outside of the LHAFA office. There will be NO parking in the area of the boat launch. A "NO WAKE ZONE" will be implemented, watercraft and boats MUST NOT exceed 5 km/h within 100 meters of the launch/floating dock. Together we can improve safety and recreational boating for everyone! Thank you!

Late in 2022 the LHAFA held a ticket draw for a 2023 ski doo expedition 900 ace and we were successful in selling all 6000 tickets.
The lucky winner was Lester Burden.

The LHAFA will be holding a ticket Draw for a 16' Fibre One boat, a 20hp Honda Outboard motor and Trailer in 2023. We will have tickets available in late February with a draw to be held at our Steak and Lobster Fundraiser event on June 10, 2023.
Tickets will be available online via EMT and at various locations throughout Happy Valley-Goose Bay.
